Dear Parents and Guardians,
ISATS are over!!! I believe that the students did fairly well on the tests. Thank you for making sure the students were at school on time and ready to do their best. Our next assessments will be the NWEA MAP test which will be administered in May. NWEA MAP will be used to determine academic achievement throughout the year. If you have any questions about either test, please let me know.
HOMEWORK: We will be resuming a normal homework schedule this week. Your child is required to be reading 30 minutes a night, reading log, spelling homework, and a math worksheet.
SOCIAL MEDIA: Not to sound like a broken record but... It is important that you are monitoring your child's social media usage. We have had many spillover sad feelings and dramatic events due to things that were said on social media the night before. Most of the social media sites do not allow 10 or 11 year olds on there and there is a reason why. They cannot handle it. Some of the students are using inappropriate language or getting themselves in situations ( "dating") that is not appropriate for 5th grade students. Please don't hesitate to pry into your child's phone.
Always feel free to contact me. [email protected]
Thanks and have a great week!
Ann Snyder
